Lady Dragons out-hit Keifer, but fall short 5-2 Despite a solid offensive effort, the Dewar Lady Dragons couldn’t secure a win against Keifer fastpitch, ultimately losing 5-2 in their recent matchup on Tuesday.

The Lady Dragons showcased their hitting prowess with seven total hits compared to Keifer’s five. Kinsey Maldonado and Jaycie Berry led the charge with two hits each, contributing to Dewar’s offensive drive throughout the game.

Keifer took an early lead in the first inning when they capitalized on a sacrifice fly that allowed #1 to score, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

On the pitching mound, Temperance Parker started strong for Dewar, pitching five innings and giving up four hits and two runs, with one of them earned. She displayed her skill with eight strikeouts and three walks, aiming to keep her team in contention.

Despite their efforts, Dewar struggled to convert hits into runs. Alyssa Baughman managed to bring in one run for the Lady Dragons, finishing the game with a 1-for-3 performance at the plate.

Keifer’s offense was efficient, with #7 leading the charge by driving in two runs from the seventh spot in the lineup. The team collectively managed five hits and drew five walks, demonstrating their disciplined approach at the plate.

— Lady Knights drop scrimmage against Pocola In a hard-fought scrimmage on Tuesday, the Henryetta Lady Knights faced off against the Pocola Lady Indians, ultimately succumbing to a 5-3 defeat.

The Pocola Indians wasted no time in making their mark on the scoreboard, with Allyssa Parker’s double in the second inning driving in two runs to give them an early lead.

The third inning saw Pocola extend their advantage further, courtesy of a single by Alli Lomon and a double by Landie Riggs, adding to their run tally. Allie Davis took the mound for the Henryetta Knights, pitching three innings and allowing eight hits and five runs, four of which were earned. Despite her efforts, which included one strikeout and no walks, the Knights faced an uphill battle against Pocola’s offense. Kyleigh Combs, pitching for Pocola, kept the Knights at bay with a solid performance, pitching two innings, striking out five, and not allowing any hits or earned runs.

Offensively for Henryetta, Ailanee Hicks and Jayleigh Easter each contributed an RBI to try and narrow the deficit. Easter also led the Knights with a 1-for-1 performance at the plate.

Pocola’s Landie Riggs was a standout performer, driving in two runs and going 1-for-2 on the day. Contributions from Kylee Merritt, Mylie Ibison, Elliott Alexander, Allyssa Parker, Brynlee Noble, Alli Lomon, and Kaydence Batt also bolstered Pocola’s offensive effort, with each player adding a hit to the team’s total.

Despite the loss, the Henryetta Lady Knights showed resilience and determination throughout the scrimmage, gaining valuable experience and insights as they continue their season preparations.
