OPS educator recognized

During last week’s Oklahoma CareerTech Summit in Tulsa, Tim Taylor, Okmulgee Public Schools AgEd instructor, was recognized onstage during the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology (OkACTE)Education General Session with the Dr. Dennis Portman III Rising Star Award representing the AgEd Division and the Oklahoma Agricultural Education Teachers Association.

This award recognizes individuals who are striving to make a difference in their division and association. These individuals have demonstrated great leadership, potential devotion, and a strong commitment to the success of the Oklahoma CareerTech system. Taylor also was selected as the Region II Outstanding Early Career Teacher for the National Association of Agricultural Educators. Region II encompasses a 7-state area (Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico and Louisiana). He will be recognized during the NAAE Convention in San Antonio, Texas, this December.

“I am thankful for the recognition from my colleagues and leadership within OAETA,” Taylor said. “If it wasn’t for the patience and hard work done by my students, co-teachers, administration, and supporters over the past six years in Okmulgee these accolades would not have been possible. I look forward to another exciting year.”
