Lady Dragons look strong at Panama scrimmage

Game 1: Dewar vs. McAlester The Dewar Varsity Lady Dragons kicked off their series of scrimmages at Panama with a dominant 6-0 victory over the McAlester Varsity Buffaloes on Thursday. Dewar’s offense wasted no time, scoring early in the first inning with two runs off sacrifice flies by Emma Bear. Pitcher Brooke Thomas delivered an outstanding performance, allowing just two hits over four innings while striking out eight. Dewar’s Bre Harvell and Emmy Hall each contributed two hits, with Thomas and Bear driving in two runs apiece.

— Game 2: Dewar vs. Poteau In a closely contested matchup, Dewar faced a tough challenge from the Poteau Varsity Lady Pirates, ultimately falling 2-0. Pitcher Temperance Parker showed resilience on the mound, striking out six batters over four and two-thirds innings, despite Poteau’s decisive runs in the third inning. Dewar’s defense remained solid, with no errors committed throughout the game, highlighting their fielding prowess.

— Game 3: Dewar vs. Silo

Despite another strong pitching effort, this time from starter Brooke Thomas, the Dewar Varsity Lady Dragons succumbed to Silo Varsity Fastpitch with a score of 3-0. Silo capitalized on opportunities in the second inning to secure their lead, while Dewar struggled to generate offensive momentum. Thomas, along with teammates Temperance Parker, Alyssa Baughman, and Emmy Hall, each managed a hit, but Dewar couldn’t overcome Silo’s effective defense.

— Game 4: Dewar vs. Wister Dewar bounced back in their final game of the scrimmage series, clinching a 5-3 victory over the Wister Varsity Wildcats. The Lady Dragons surged early with runs in the first and third innings, bolstered by Bre Harvell’s triple and solid contributions from Emmy Hall. Pitcher Temperance Parker secured the win, supported by a strong defensive effort that held off Wister’s lategame rally. The Dewar Varsity Lady Dragons displayed resilience and skill throughout their games in the Panama Scrimmage, setting a strong foundation as they prepare for the upcoming season.
