The Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State week concluded last weekend as outstanding athletes, coaches, trainers and others were honored. For students, it was an opportunity to showcase their talents.
Congratulations to all the coaches on their awards, region winners, All-State coaches and OFBCA Coach of the year.
Tennis coach Dustin Mosco of Henryetta was named 4A OTCA Coach of the Year.
Kade Henderson of Dewar played last Friday in the Oklahoma Coaches Association 11-man All-State game at OBU in Shawnee.
Former Morris High School Wrestling Coach Mark Smith, now at Sallisaw High School, was named the 2024 4A Head Coach of the Year along with Scott Mayfield, also of Sallisaw, who was named 2024 4A Assistant Coach of the Year.
Morris Eagle Skylar Hunter wrestled in the All-State duels. Her coach is Chris Barbee.
Lily Haywood of Henryetta wrestled on the All-State duels on the East team. Her coach is Dave Hutchings.
Congratulations to Morris High School Coach Jack Dingus, as he was elected the Oklahoma Powerlifting Coaches Association’s Secretary at the Oklahoma Coaches Association clinic last week. This is in addition to his duties as Region 2 Representative for the Oklahoma Football Coaches Association.
Also, Dale Condict of Wagoner High School, formerly of Okmulgee, was inducted into the 2024 Coaches Hall of Fame. That event was held on July 20.
