The Henryetta Show Down Throw Down on July 6 featured some healthy competition, in addition to raising funds for a worthy competition.
The event, held at Nichols Park, pitted the Henryetta Lions against the Henryetta Rotarians.
The planning for the event started in February by incoming presidents Amber Smith (Lions) and Michelle Genova (Rotary).
“The idea was to play on our long-standing rivalry and compete for bragging rights and a trophy,” Smith said. “All in good fun and to help another local service organization.”
This year, the Lions were victorious in the contest 13-9.
The funds raised will be donated this year to the Henryetta Historical Society.
The clubs hope to make this a yearly competition and fundraiser to help various organizations in the community.
