Weekend of Local is July 12-14

Do you love local shops and restaurants? Okmulgee Main Street and Executive Director Melinda De Santo invites the community to mark your calendar for the upcoming “Week of Local.”

The Weekend of Local (WOL) is a campaign encouraging customers throughout Oklahoma to go visit, shop and eat from local businesses between July 12-14.

Here is a great opportunity to participate in a large campaign to shop locally. Several Okmulgee Main Street businesses have signed on to the campaign.

Those include:

• Coleman’s

• Funky Blessings by Rhonda

• Joe’s Italian Restaurant • KD’s LLC

• The Mall of Okmulgee

• Midge & Millie’s Booksellers

• Miss Mary’s Market

• Mithril Adventures

• Okmulgee Main Street

• Roses & Lace

• Stadium Club Snow Cones

• Tavern 56

• Total Medical & Wellness

• Ye Olde Lamp Post

• 2 Broke Girlz Boutique & Gifts The Weekend of Local is an initiative spearheaded by the Independent Shopkeepers Association (ISA), a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization with a goal to support local shops in Oklahoma. ISA has partnered with organizations statewide to make this campaign possible. Thanks to Main Street organizations, district directors and chambers of commerce throughout the state, the Weekend of Local will be one for all Oklahoma communities to celebrate.

The 2024 Weekend of Local is sponsored by Heartland, Fleske Commercial Group, Midtown OKC and Lettering Express.

For those wishing to venture outside of the area, but still shop local, there are plenty of towns and groups that are part of the campaign: Greater OKC Chamber, Downtown OKC Partnership, Midtown OKC, Automobile Alley, Bricktown, West Village, Plaza District, Paseo Arts Association, Uptown 23rd, Stockyards City (OKC), Tulsa Route 66 Main Street, Tulsa Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, City of Norman, Norman Chamber of Commerce, Yukon 66 Main Street Association, City of Woodward, Main Street Enid, Fairview Chamber of Commerce, Ardmore Main Street Authority, Historic Downtown Altus, Main Street Altus, Woodward Main Street, Newkirk Main Street, Sapulpa Main Street, Main Street Muskogee, Miami Main Street, Sand Springs Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Edmond, Oklahoma Main Street Center, Yukon Chamber of Commerce, Alva Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Locust Grove, City of Collinsville, Collinsville Chamber of Commerce, Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce, Elk City Chamber of Commerce, Shawnee Forward, Downtown Stillwater Association, Piedmont Chamber of Commerce, Mustang Chamber of Commerce, Marietta Main Street Committee and El Reno Main Street.
