Buying fireworks from a reputable supplier

Fireworks are easy to find, with big tents, warehouse outlets and other retail fireworks stores lining major roads in towns across the country, especially around the 4th of July. But fireworks are potentially dangerous, explosive devices. It is important to know exactly what you are getting, how to use it safely, and whether it is of the highest quality. If you are new to fireworks, you might also need help with choosing the right products for the display you envision. At Skyline Fireworks, located at 799 W. 20th St. in Okmulgee, the owner has extensive knowledge of the fireworks industry, local laws and ordinances, and the products they sell. Here are six considerations for choosing a reputable supplier and the best fireworks stores.

— Experience & Product Knowledge Skyline Fireworks has been in business for over 20 years. They carry multiple name brands and a variety of items from every major fireworks category (as long as it’s legal in Oklahoma). Customers come back year after year, seeking what’s new and exciting while enjoying great customer service, a large variety of fireworks, budget- friendly prices, and, of course, shopping in air conditioning! New customers may feel a little overwhelmed by having so many choices when entering their store. Talk to the owners or sales staff; they will discuss the different products and can show videos of several items via the video system.

— Product Quality & Legal Knowledge Not all fireworks are of the same quality. Poorly made fireworks have a much higher risk of premature detonation and of something going wrong during detonation. High-quality, name-brand fireworks are carefully tested to minimize these risks and ensure safe storage and detonation. In fact, you can store high-quality fireworks for as many as 10 years under proper conditions.

Every state, county, and city has its own unique fireworks laws. Of course, you should quickly walk away from any supplier who sells illegal fireworks, such as bottle rockets, as well as anyone who is willing to sell professional fireworks to an unlicensed consumer. Professional-grade fireworks are classified and marked as 1.3G, while consumer-grade fireworks are 1.4G. Always read the labels on any fireworks you are considering.

— Safety Concerns

Reputable fireworks suppliers want to keep their customers safe and healthy. If you are purchasing larger items like mortars or other hazardous products, a reputable supplier will offer or sell safety devices, such as launching tubes or wick extensions (fuse), for example, and be proactive in giving tips and suggestions on handling fireworks safely.

— At Skyline Fireworks, they don’t only sell top-quality, name-brand fireworks, they also provide the information you need to use them responsibly, legally, and safely. If you have any questions or concerns, give them a call at (918) 758-6547, reach out to them on Facebook, visit their website at www.skylinefireworksllc.com or email nuyaka@yahoo.com. They look forward to becoming your one-stop shop for all your fireworks needs.
