The Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners met on Monday for their regular session – their first meeting since the passing of former District 1 Commissioner Ron Ballard, who was laid to rest later that day.

The meeting began with the approval of the previous meeting’s minutes, and the following Blanket Purchase Orders: District One – interstate billing (repairs); District Two – O’Reilly’s for $250, AutoZone for $250, Cintas for $700, RPI for $1,000 District Three – O’ Reilly’s for $1,000, RPI for $500, Cintas for $900.

Later in the meeting, the board approved the surplus of highway funds from FY23-24 to FY24-25 and a resolution renewing lease-purchase agreements for FY24-25.

Additionally, two separate resolutions were approved: one renewing lease-purchase agreements for FY24-25, and another amending longevity stipends for the same period, reducing the allocated amount to $37,750.

The board also approved a transfer of appropriations for OSU Extension, two utility permits – one for a resident on Bald Hill Rd. and another for RW2 –  and the payment of claims. They also invited bids for the hauling of raw materials over six months.

Later, the board heard the weekly report from EM Director Jeff Moore, who gave an update on the storage building being constructed at the Okmulgee County Emergency Management office, stating work should be completed by this Friday. His full report can be found in Friday’s edition.
