Festival, car show and more on tap for busy weekend

Looking for something to do this weekend?

Well, there is plenty on tap around the area, including the annual Muscogee Festival, which officially kicked off last night.

This weekend, there are plenty of events going on with special entertainment and family fun planned at the Claude Cox Omniplex, along with the 8th annual Harlan Ford Car Show and lots of races at Jandebeur’s Motor Sports Park.

— Muscogee Nation Festival

Besides the many sporting events, and the carnival rides and food, crowds will be entertained by several nationally known acts.

On Friday night, co-headliners LOCASH and Joe Nichols will kick off the entertainment. LOCASH will hit the stage at 7 p.m., followed by Joe Nichols at 9 p.m.

Saturday evening will feature two must-see events: There’ll be the Festival Fashion Show, starting at 7 p.m. This event will highlight both traditional and contemporary fashion, showcasing the rich culture and creativity of the Muscogee Nation.

Saturday evening also brings the “I Love the 90’s Tour” to the stage. Enjoy a free-entry concert featuring iconic artists like Sir Mix-A-Lot, Treach of Naughty by Nature, Rob Base, Tone Loc, Color Me Badd and Young MC. Relive the golden era of hiphop and R&B with performances of the hits that defined a generation.
