MEDIA RELEASE: Homicide Investigation Underway in Okmulgee County

MEDIA RELEASE

For Immediate Release

On June 12, 2024 at approximately 1:42, Okmulgee County deputies responded to an area west of Beggs, Oklahoma on the report of a deceased male subject lying in the roadway. Upon deputy arrival, they found a deceased male subject later identified as Allen Wright Jr. lying in the roadway as described. Assistance was requested from the District 25 Violent Crimes Task Force as well as the Creek County Sheriff’s Office due to the body being found on the county line between the two counties.

The investigation is underway with several pieces of evidence being collected and processed by District 25 VCTF Crime Scene Investigators. Other District 25 VCTF Investigators are canvasing the area around Beggs as well as the City of Okmulgee. If you have information related to this investigation, Sheriff Rice requests that you contact the OCSO at 918.756.4311 and request to speak with an investigator. This is an ongoing homicide investigation and information may be released at a later date as it becomes available.

NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
