The investigation into the slaying of a county man last week continues.
On June 12 at approximately 1:42 p.m., Okmulgee County deputies responded to an area west of Beggs on the report of a deceased male subject lying in the roadway.
Upon arriving at the scene, they found the male subject, later identified as Allen Wright, Jr., lying in the roadway. Assistance was requested from the District 25 Violent Crimes Task Force as well as the Creek County Sheriff ’s Office due to the body being found on the county line between the two counties.
The incident has sparked a comprehensive investigation spanning multiple law enforcement agencies.
District 25 VCTF Crime Scene Investigators have been meticulously combing the area for evidence while their colleagues conduct extensive canvassing efforts in Beggs and Okmulgee. The circumstances surrounding Wright’s death remain undisclosed, with authorities refraining from releasing further details at this time.
Sheriff Eddy Rice emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation and urged anyone with pertinent information to come forward.
