Exploring Tradition
In the heart of Okmulgee, a unique cultural opportunity is unfolding every Friday in June and July. Yafke Marks, a dedicated cultural educator from Oklahoma City, shares the timeless art of making corn husk dolls. These sessions, known as “make and takes,” offer participants the chance to craft their own traditional dolls while learning about the rich history behind this Native American practice.
