Need Help?  Here’s Who to Contact

Animal Control – 918-756-3511

Lost Pet: If your pet is lost call Okmulgee Animal Control to check if they landed in the city shelter. If they did land in a shelter, Animal Control will be able to give claim instructions. Please help spread the word to others who might be missing a pet.

Strays: If you live in Okmulgee City limits and have a problem with a stray dog or cat you can call the Animal Control Department.  They are the only entity who can pick up strays to intake into their city animal shelter.

Owner Surrender:  If you must surrender a dog or cat (we hope you don’t) you can contact the Animal Control Department. They are the only entity who can intake animals into their city animal shelter.

Okmulgee County Humane Society – 918-752-0674

Donations:  If you have monetary, pet food, or pet accessories to donate, call OCHS.  We are now temporarily located at 115 S. Muskogee Ave, Okmulgee, OK 74447.

Pet Adoptions/Fostering:  If you are a new to OCHS and see a pet on our FB page or website you are interested in adopting or fostering, please submit an application on our website:  https://www.okmulgeehumane.org/  Or call our office if you have any questions or issues with the online application. If you have fostered or adopted from us in the past, you can send an email:  OkmulgeeHumane@gmail.com or message us on FB:  https://www.facebook.com/okmulgee

Pet Food Needs:  If you find yourself in a tight spot and are unable to afford pet food or pet accessories, please call or contact OCHS (email and FB info listed above).  We know many times this availability can mean the difference on a difficult decision to owner/surrender.  OCHS wants to help you keep your furry loved ones.

Low-Cost Programs:  If you need financial assistance with TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return), Spay/Neutering, or Community Medical Assistance, please call or contact OCHS.  We will give assistance as long as funds are available to qualifying applicants.

Strays Outside Okmulgee City Limits: We know there are a lot of dumped animals on rural property.  There are two steps you can take if this happens to you:

1) Post the pet as found to the multiple pages available around Okmulgee County such as; Okmulgee and Surrounding Area Lost and Found Pets and Okmulgee County Networking Watch.  Morris and Mounds have similar community pages.

2) Currently, OCHS does not have kennels of its own to intake animals and we don’t have the means nor the training to pick up strays. You can contact OCHS via email or FB Messenger with pictures and description to include approximate age, weight, physical health, and personality and we can try to work in Courtesy Posts to our FB pages in an attempt to help you rehome the found pet.
