(USACE Lake Level) Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass good on crankbaits, flukes, jerk baits, plastic baits, PowerBait, and rogues around brush structure, channels, coves, creek channels, main lake, points, riprap, river channel, river mouth, rocks, and standing timber. White bass good on in-line spinnerbaits, small lures, spinnerbaits, and spoons below the dam, channels, dam, discharge, main lake, points, river channel, river mouth, rocks, sandbar, and tailwater. Comments: Crappie have been fair to slower, in and around docks and the shorelines. Not all areas of the lake are seeing the action; the up and down levels of the water and the recent water clarity changes have had an effect on the activity. — Tenkiller Lake
May 18 – Elevation is 0.5 ft. above normal and stable, water temperature 72°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth and spotted bass fair on crankbaits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures around brush structure, coves, flats, and shorelines. White bass good on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, and small lures around coves, creek channels, flats, and main lake. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish fair on cut bait, live bait, live shad, and shad around channels, river channel, and river mouth. Comments: Black bass has been fair, with the early hours of the day or late evening being the better opportunities. They can be found near schools of shad. Top water early has been successful for anglers. White bass can also be found in coves and the main lake, schooling and feeding. When spotting schooling up and hitting the surface, catching them can be easy but toughens up once they stop. Report submitted by Cody Youngblood, game warden stationed in Cherokee County.
