In preparation for Memorial Day, Commander Guy Duckworth and members of Okmulgee’s VFW Post 1189 placed American Flags along 6th Street early Sunday morning. The annual Memorial Day program will be held at the Veterans Circle at Okmulgee Cemetery Monday at 11 a.m. American Legion Post 10 is handling the arrangements for this year’s event. Flags will be placed at the graves of veterans buried at the cemetery later this week with the assistance of veterans groups, scouts and other community volunteers.
