Sally Arlene (Robertson) Barnett

August 30, 1935 – May 15, 2024

Sally Arlene (Robertson) Barnett was born in McCurtain on August 30, 1935 to Leo and Ruth (Shields) Robertson. She passed away on May 15, 2024, in Okmulgee at the age of 88.

She is survived by: Her beloved daughter: Tina Grubb and husband, John, of Okmulgee Her beloved grandsons: Thomas Huggins and wife, Brittny Little, of Okmulgee Stephen Huggins and wife, Sara, of Okmulgee Nine nieces: Liz Webb, Jennifer Long, Kim Brusbe, Carolyn Greenmyer, Donna Benham, Kathy Barnett, Toni Byrd, Lisa Mazzolini and Kim Hale.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Glen” Barnett; her parents, Leo and Ruth Robertson; her son, Thomas Barnett; her brothers, Leo Robertson, Joe Robertson, George Robertson, and David Robertson; her sister, Lorene White; her niece, Christina Mondier; her great niece, Joley Barnett; and her great nephew, Gabriel Long.

Sally retired from DHS in 1996 as County Director. After ten years of retirement, she began working part time at the Stigler Flower Box.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stigler, where she taught Children and Adult Sunday School classes. She was an avid OU Football fan and lover of animals.

Sally was a former secretary of Haskell County Democratic Party and a former member of ESA and the Board of Directors of Haskell County Hospital. She worked for twelve years as a volunteer for the Salvation Army in Haskell County.

Viewing will be held at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 17 and 18; and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, May 19.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Stigler at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, with Rev. Jeff Dover officiating. Interment will follow at Stigler City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Pallbearers: Thomas Huggins, Jake Grubb, Chuck Forrester, Tom Benham, David Mondier, John Jones, Michael Webb, Marty Byrd and Stephen Huggins.
