FEMA initiated house-to-house registration for affected individuals, ensuring comprehensive coverage for assistance programs.
Discussions with FEMA and Muscogee Nation regarding Mobile Registration and potential Disaster Recovery locations to facilitate accessibility for affected communities.
Morris Debris Site Approval:
Final approval received for Morris Debris Site location from State Archaeology Department, State Historical Society, and Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, facilitating efficient debris management operations.
Severe Weather Operations:
Conducted Severe Weather Operations for storms on Monday into Tuesday morning.
Minor flooding reported in several areas of Okmulgee County, necessitating localized response efforts.
Okmulgee County Storm Project Grant:
Notification received of acceptance for the Okmulgee County Storm Project Grant proposal.
Grant award of $200,000 secured, with a $50,000 portion allocated to Okmulgee County.
Application process to be completed before June to access funding. Commissioners signed off on the Notice of Intent, pending verbal approval to proceed.
Planned installation of 6 sirens, totaling $207,275.60, including installation costs.
3 sirens to replace aging sirens in Morris, with the City of Morris agreeing to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the County. Sirens and operating system to remain the property of Okmulgee County, with maintenance responsibilities retained by the county.
Initial discussions with Morris regarding partial funding of the county’s share. Phase one of the Okmulgee County Outdoor Warning Siren system to include placement at Wilson, Preston, and Twin Hills schools.
Spoke with two residents regarding homes being built in the county and floodplain requirements.
Met with owners at 190 Rd and Creager Rd regarding floodplain and any county requirements for a building.
Over the weekend, spoke with 6 residents on the phone regarding Tornado Recovery and FEMA.
Structure fire in Schulter on Sunday morning at approximately 05:21. Spoke with the fire chief on the phone and advised he did not need a response from Emergency Management.
