A Tulsa woman was hospitalized Saturday following an injury crash near Beggs.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated the collision happened May 4 around 9:26 a.m. on Hwy. 16 and N. 230 Rd, approximately eight miles east of Beggs. The incident involved a single vehicle, a 2009 Honda Accord, which was driven by Rebecca Green, a 63-year-old resident of Tulsa.
According to initial reports from the scene, the vehicle departed the roadway to the right, then overcorrected, ultimately veering off the road to the left. The Accord collided with an embankment, leading to a rollover before coming to rest off the roadway.
The aftermath of the collision saw Green and a juvenile passenger transported by Okmulgee County EMS to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Green was admitted in stable condition with trunk internal injuries, while the juvenile passenger was treated and released with minor injuries.
Emergency responders and law enforcement agencies swiftly arrived at the scene to provide assistance and investigate the incident. Trooper JC Brown of the Okmulgee/Creek County detachment of Troop B led the investigation, assisted by Trooper Bryan Bell and the Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office, Okmulgee County EMS, and the Twin Hills Fire Department.
Despite the clear weather and dry roadway conditions at the time of the collision, the investigation into the cause of the incident remains ongoing. The OHP stated that seatbelts were not in use at the time of the collision, and the vehicle’s airbags did not deploy.
