Members of the Okmulgee Service League hosted their “Lights, Camera, Auction!” banquet this past Saturday, complete with all the expected glamour. The event took place at OSUIT’s State Room, where chefs from their esteemed culinary department catered an evening filled with live music, fine food, great company and some well-spent money.
The organization auctioned various items, ranging from gift baskets to assault rifles to international vacations, raising over $33,000 in the process. The funds will benefit several groups, including the Okmulgee Education Foundation, Okmulgee County Community Garden, Safe Harbor, The Rowan Fund, Okmulgee Main Street, Deep Fork Community Action and the Okmulgee County Sharks. Proceeds will also support scholarships provided by the Service League.
