Neal’s Classic, Preston Tournament on tap
The Okmulgee Neal’s Classic 2024 Baseball Tournament kicks off Thursday as the Bulldogs host several teams in action that will continue through Saturday.
The Okmulgee Bulldogs welcome teams from Hugo, Meeker, Henryetta, Beggs, Will Rogers, Keys and Tahlequah Sequoyah, with action beginning at 10 a.m.
To open the Neal’s Classic, the Henryetta Knights will take on Meeker, followed by the Bulldogs facing Hugo in the noon matchup.
At 2 p.m. Tahlequah Sequoyah takes on Keys, with the final game at 4 p.m. with the Beggs Golden Demons facing Will Rogers in diamond action.
Play continues Friday with the loser bracket matchups at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and the winners bracket at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The finale for the winners bracket will take place Saturday at 4 p.m.
The Preston Pirates will also hold their tournament this weekend, as they welcome teams from across the state, Thursday through Saturday.
Action in Preston will begin with the Morris Eagles taking on the Haskell Haymakers in Pool A at 2 p.m. The Pirates will face Haskell at 4:15 p.m. and Preston will take on Morris at 6:30 p.m.
On Friday, McCloud will face Warner at 4 p.m., followed by Kellyville at 6:15 p.m. Kellyville will then face Warner at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday’s action will begin at 10 a.m. with the consolation bracket, the 3rd place game at 12:15 p.m. and the championship game at 2:30 p.m.
