102 Years Young
By Patrick

Robert Kramer was all smiles Monday as he was the ‘talk of the town,’ having reached a milestone very few can attain.

Kramer celebrated his 102nd birthday on April 15, and the years don’t seem to have completely slowed him down.

While enjoying his lunch at Fountain View Manor where he resides, Kramer reminisced about his roots, having been raised in the same area he celebrated his milestone.

Despite not serving in the military (though he tried enlisting several times), he dedicated his years to the bread business, evening owning a bakery that became a staple in the Weleetka community.

After closing his business due to competition from the big box stores, Kramer decided to go to work for them, and worked in the bread business for years.

As the years have gone by, he has seen many things happen in the world, and lost members of his family, but is still grateful for all those who are part of his kin.

With a chuckle, he admitted to having “way too many” grandchildren and great-grandchildren to even remember the number.

“I would have to get out a pen and paper to write them down,” he added, but didn’t want to take the risk of missing one.

Amidst laughter and memories, his remaining son, Glen Kramer, also a resident of Fountain View, stopped by to chat, and even shared some memories with his father.

Robert Kramer’s outlook on life is a testament to a life well-lived and connections that span generations.
