Paul Henry Ramsey

February 1, 1941 – April 6, 2024

Paul Henry Ramsey, longtime Okmulgee county minister and business owner, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, in Okmulgee at 83 years of age.. Paul was born February 1, 1941. in Edna, to the late Henry and Mary (Thomas) Ramsey. Paul began his business career in the 1960s when he opened Okmulgee Salvage Yard. He also owned and operated Ramsey Drilling.

He married the love of his life, Janis Patricia Ann Blankenship on April 24, 1975, in Sapulpa. He and Jan started Harvest Christian Center in 1990 Paul enjoyed fishing and reading his Bible. He could play any musical instrument. Since Jan’s passing, Paul had lived with his daughter and son-in-law, Billie Golightly and Jim Dale, where he was lovingly cared for by Jim.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janis Ramsey; sons, Paul Michael Ramsey, Tony Ramsey, David Wayne Ramsey, and Scotty Golightly; grandsons, Justin Stark, Jerrydon Ramsey and Steven Ramsey; great granddaughter, Kaydence Golightly; great grandsons, Bodhi Ashley; siblings, Earnest, John, Willie, Addie and Rosemary Ramsey and Pat Vogle; and his former wife, Lois Ramsey.

Survivors include his children, Sherill Medley and husband Danny, Paula Larney and husband Richard, Billie Golightly and husband Jim Dale, Kim Golightly and husband Dale Chronister, David Golightly and wife Shelly, Wayne Golightly and wife Cindi, Karma Sessions and husband Ricky, Niki Brown and husband Joe; a brother, David Ramsey and wife Sue, a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit the funeral home on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 1-6 p.m.

A funeral service to honor the life of Paul Ramsey will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
