The 2024 Okmulgee Farmer’s Market organizational meeting was recently held at the Okmulgee Community Garden facility. Robyn Pippin Franklin, Director of the local organization, stated this year’s market will begin Friday, May 17, in downtown Okmulgee on the north side of the Okmulgee Council House. The Farmer’s Market will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each week. Follow Okmulgee Farmer’s Market on Facebook for more details. John Neal Jr., owner Neal’s Homestore, spoke to recent Okmulgee Farmer’s Market participants about the continuation of the Farm Bucks program for the 2024 market. For the past three years, Neal’s Homestore has raised funding from Okmulgee merchants which enable a $5 Farmer Buck given to each family that that comes to the first Friday of the month to the Farmer’s Market. While limited Farmer’s Bucks are given out on a first come first serve basis, customers are able to spend the $5 toward any item for sale.
