Creek Dome to host Class B regional tournament

3-day playoff event to begin Thursday at 1 p.m.

The Mvskoke Dome, at the Claude Cox Omniplex, in Okmulgee will be the main site for the Class B, Area II, regional basketball tournament this weekend.

The 3-day playoff event will begin with consolation quarterfinal action Thursday at 1 and 2:30 p.m., respectively.

The Muscogee Nation gymnasium will feature a total of four games – two boys and two girls – on Thursday with the other two contests being the winner’s bracket first-round games at 6 and 7:30 p.m., respectively.

The other eight teams that will compete in the top portion of the regional tournament bracket will begin play Thursday at Calumet High School. The final two days of the Region 1 tournament will take place at the Mvskoke Dome, as the remaining six teams at the Calumet sub-regional will come to town to continue their postseason journeys and join the six remaining teams from Thursday’s action in Okmulgee with Friday’s tournament action being the consolation semifinal round for both divisions and Saturday’s tournament action will feature the girls and boys consolation title games at 1 and 2:30 p.m., respectively, and the girls and boys regional championship games at 6 and 7:30 p.m., respectively.

The eight teams that will be competing at the Mvskoke Dome on Thursday will be the Paden Pirates and Lady Pirates, McCurtain Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs, Moss Pirates and Lady Pirates, LeFlore Lady Savages, and Oaks-Mission Warriors.

The eight teams that will begin regional tournament play Thursday at Calumet High School are the Calumet Chieftains, Prue Lady Rockets, Billings Bulldogs, Olive Lady Wildcats, Dover Longhorns and Lady Longhorns, and the Mulhall-Orlando Panthers and Lady Panthers.

After the conclusion of the first boys game on each day of the regional tournament, the Mvskoke Dome will be cleared to allow for cleaning.

Fans can purchase tickets for each session of the regional tournament at the door for $10 each or by either going onto the GoFan app or going to www.ossaa. com for $8.35 ($7 plus $1.35 processing fee) and must have a separate ticket for each session.

OSSAA Passes will be the only pass accepted at the Class B regional tournament.
