Obituaries

Bobby Lee Basden

Bobby Lee Basden, a resident of Mounds, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 78 years of age. He was born Sunday, September 23, 1945, in Enterprise to the late Fred C. and Freeda Inez (Gulley) Basden. He married Carla Snyder on June 1, 1966, in Okmulgee and ended up moving to Mounds in 1995.

Bob had a heart for helping others. If there was something someone needed, Bob was quick to make sure they had it, whether he had to fix it or make it. He had hands for fixing, building and tinkering with things. Especially swingsets and go carts. He was always helpful and there to give his advice. Bob enjoyed a lot of things, including mowing his and his neighbor’s yard, fishing, taking care of his dogs and cracking a few jokes. He made sure every morning to make his solo trip to Whataburger to get his biscuits and gravy.

Bob is preceded in death by both his parents, Fred C. and Freeda Inez Basden; and his wife, Carla DeAnn (Snyder) Basden.

Bob’s survivors include his children, Stacy Basden, Jen Ward and husband Ben and Andrew Basden; sisters, Betty Crossley and husband Dale, Alice Boyle and husband Ray, and Dorothy Basden; brother-in-law, Woody Snyder; grandchildren, September 23, 1945 – February 10, 2024

Katy Grigg, Ashly Grigg, Jesse Grigg, Mason Ward, Alayna Ward, and Brandi Snyder; special family members, Za’Ryah Snyder, Alex Snyder, and Jordan Snyder lifelong friend, Ron Barnes; several nieces and nephews, and his dog, Girlie.

Viewing will take place from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at McClendon- Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024, at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel, with Woody Snyder and Benjamin Ward officiating. Casketbearers will be Alayna Ward, Mason Ward, Benjamin Ward, Alex Snyder and Jordan Snyder.
