Thomas Lee Smith, known to most as, Tommy, died in, Three Rivers, Texas on February 5, 2024, at the age of 60. He was born to Jimmie and Viola (Mezo) Smith in Ashville, Ohio on December 25, 1963.
Tommy graduated from high school in Okmulgee. He enlisted with United States Navy and traveled the world seeing various countries and cities. Tommy was very proud to be a veteran and have served his country. After his return, he attended Spartan School of Aeronautics, where he received a degree and continued to further his education earning an Associate’s degree from OSUIT. Tommy worked for many years as a computer technician in the oil and gas industry. His career allowed him the opportunity to travel to different states. Tommy loved the ocean and liked to go fishing when he had the chance to go. Of all the places that he had worked at, his favorite was the time he spent working in the Corpus Christi area because he loved the warm weather and being next to the ocean.
He reunited with Jennifer, a high school classmate, and they married in December of 2021.
Tommy was a light-hearted man who liked to have fun and joke around. He was kind and very generous, always willing to lend a helping hand when he could.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Viola. He is survived by his father Jimmie; wife December 25, 1963 – February 5, 2024
Jennifer (Salyer) Smith of Henryetta; son Thomas Smith, Jr. and wife Allison; granddaughter Harper Jean, of Illinois; stepchildren John Owen and wife Melissa, their children Taylor and Shyla, of Henryetta; Jamie Leggett and husband Adam, children Archer and Owen, of Morris; and a sister Vicki Smith of Okmulgee.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 2-6 p.m. at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2024, at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee, with Marc Kutz officiating. Committal will immediately follow at Morris Cemetery. Casketbearers will be John Owen, Adam Leggett, Thomas Smith, Jr., David Manen, Cameron Manen and Michael Sadler. Honorary casketbearers will be John Garza, Jason Moore and Joey Salyer.
