Hebrews 13:20 says, “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant.” Why do we talk about the blood of Jesus? We talk about the blood of Jesus because it’s so important. The blood is the basis and foundation of what makes the covenant between God and us good. The covenant will not be replaced or ever become old. This covenant is everlasting. Jesus offered up Himself one time and that’s all it will ever take. The blood of Jesus is the blood of the everlasting covenant.
