County cage programs to compete at various tournaments this weekend

The eight Okmulgee County varsity basketball programs will be in action this weekend (Thursday-Saturday), competing for team championships at seven different tournaments.

This weekend’s seven tournaments that will feature county cage squads are as follows: * Henryetta Invitational – Henryetta, Beggs * Lincoln Christian Winter Classic – Okmulgee * Mike Kerr Classic (Morrison) – Preston * Jeff Hart Memorial Coliseum Classic (Lawton) – Dewar * Warner Eagle Cherokee Classic – Morris * Graham-Dustin Chieftain Classic Schulter * Depew Invitational Wilson The schools that will send both varsity teams to compete alongside the Henryetta and Beggs cage squads at the Henryetta Invitational are: McLoud, Haskell, Poteau, and Bristow. The final two spots in the girls bracket will be occupied by the Southmoore and Metro Christian varsity teams, while the final two spots in the boys bracket will be occupied by the Okemah varsity team and the Metro Christian junior varsity squad.

The schools that will send both varsity teams to compete alongside the Okmulgee cage squads at the Lincoln Christian Winter Classic are: Lincoln Christian, Stilwell, Fort Gibson, Tuttle, Tulsa Edison, and Sapulpa. The final spot in the girls bracket will be occupied by the Owasso varsity team, while the final spot in the boys bracket will be occupied by the Bethany varsity team.

The schools that will send both varsity teams to compete alongside the Preston cage squads at the Mike Kerr Classic in Morrison are: Morrison, Pawhuska, Pawnee, Frontier, Luther, and Wesleyan Christian. The final spot in the girls bracket will be occupied by the Stroud varsity team, while the final spot in the boys bracket will be occupied by the Oklahoma Christian Academy varsity team.

The schools that will send both varsity teams to compete alongside the Morris cage squads at the Warner Eagle Cherokee Classic in Warner are: Warner, Wilburton, Eufaula, Keys, Spiro. The final two spots in the girls bracket will be occupied by the varsity teams from Tulsa Hale and Okay, while the final two spots in the boys bracket will be occupied by the varsity teams from Stroud and Drumright.

The schools that will send both varsity teams to compete alongside the Dewar cage squads at the Jeff Hart Memorial Classic in Lawton are: Chattanoga, Cement, Fletcher, Navajo, Waurika, Burns Flat-Dill City, and Central (Marlow).

The schools that will send both varsity teams to compete alongside the Wilson cage squads at the Depew Invitational are: Depew, Liberty (Mounds), Glencoe, Olive, New Lima, Paden, and Hominy.

The schools that will send both varsity teams to compete alongside the Schulter cage squads at the Chieftain Classic at Graham-Dustin High School are: Graham- Dustin, Maud, Macomb, Porum, Wanette, Wayne. The Haskell JV team will fill the final spot in the girls bracket, while the Wetumka JV team will occupy the final spot in the boys bracket.
