Three Dragons selected for 8-Man All-Star Game
Three Dewar varsity football players will have one final opportunity to represent their school this summer.
Dewar seniors Christian Cargola, Kade Henderson and Nevin Corbin were selected to participate in the Oklahoma 8-Man Coaches Association’s All-Star Football Game June 15, 2024, at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami.
The three Dragon athletes will be joined by seniors from several 8-man football teams across the state from Classes B and C and will be divided into two teams: Green and White and will compete in a 4-quarter battle for bragging rights.
Henderson and Corbin were also named to the Class B All-Star By Class during the offseason, while Corbin had the opportunity to compete last Monday (Dec. 18) at the Blue-Grey All-Star Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Besides the OEMFCA All-Star Game, Henderson will also represent the Dewar Dragon varsity football team in July of 2024 after being selected to the Oklahoma Coaches Association’s All-State Football Game at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee.
During their time at Dewar, the three OEMFCA All-Star selections finished with a combined 50-3 record in four seasons, which includes a perfect 15-0 record and Class B state championship as freshmen in 2020. Along with the state championship, these three athletes have also helped the Dragons to four district championships, four undefeated reguar seasons, and fourstraight trips to the postseason.
