An Okmulgee man is facing a homicide charge in tribal court after a shooting incident last week.
Blake Johnson, 36, has been charged in Muscogee Nation district court in connection with the shooting on Dec. 14.
Okmulgee police and fire responded to a vehicle crash and fire near 20th and Florida Streets.
After pulling the driver from the burning vehicle, it was discovered that the male occupant had been shot several times.
The chief stated the case was turned over to tribal police. The victim, 61-year-old Steve, Watts, died later from his injuries.
