By LARRY OWEN SPORTS EDITOR

The Dewar varsity basketball program closed out last week’s schedule with a pair of sweeps.

The Lady Dragons improved to 2-1 on the year with decisive victories over Hanna (69-25) last Thursday in Dewar and Butner (65-7) last Friday in Cromwell. Last Thursday’s lopsided win at home against Hanna was the first under new head coach Stephen Castlebury.

The Dragons improved to 3-0 on the season with a pair of double-digit wins last weekend, earning a home win over Hanna last Thursday (73-41) and routing Butner on the road last Friday (5326).
