John Joseph Shepherd, Jr.

July 22, 1977 – November 15, 2023

John Joseph Shepherd, Jr., also known as John-John, a beloved member of Okmulgee and the Muscogee Creek Nation community, passed away tragically at his home on November 15, 2023, at the age of 46 with his beloved dog, Chabon. Born on July 22, 1977, in Orange, Calif., John was the cherished son of parents, Johnny and Joan (Zuniga) Shepherd. John relocated to Oklahoma to be near his family in 1994. John was known as a “jack of all trade.” He loved the Dallas Cowboys, cooking chorizo and potatoes, fishing, mechanics, painting, movies, music, and tribal art, but most of all playing with his grandkids and his dog.

John will be remembered for all the love he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it.

John Joseph Shepherd (JohnJohn) a son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, and friend is preceded in death by parents Johnny and Joan Shepherd; daughter Aurora Shepherd; sister Mary Solorzano; grandparents Joe Zuniga, Cherry Joan Albert, Charles and Betty Shepherd, Chole Mitchell’ Uncle Ducky and Uncle Denny.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter Faith (Yaya) Shepherd and fiancé Dakoda Allman; and grandchildren Winter, Luna, Fenrit Allman; son Giovanni (Nonnie) Shepherd; daughter Jonesa Shepherd, stepchildren Nichole and husband Marco Hernandez, Richie Gutierrez, Andrea Caraballo, Angelica Caraballo (Bean); ex-wife Denise Shepherd; stepfather James Dickerson; sister Sherry (Pumpkin) and husband Gerardo Contreras, sister Joeann and husband Jeff King; niece, Cindy and husband Grant Harjo, niece Sherry (Sister) and husband Mike De-Camilla, niece Jessica and husband Brent Fixico, niece Monica (Nana) Arechiga; nephew Alex Castillo, nephew Joey Anguiano, niece Kami King, niece Kelley and husband Wayne Gilbert, niece Kenzie King, nephew Tyler King, nephew Martin (Jr) Solorzano, nephew Mario and wife Mackenzie Solorzano, nephew Marty Solorzano, nephew Marcos Solorzano; great niece Michelle Proctor; Aunt Babe (Sue White), and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Schaudt Okmulgee Funeral Service. Service details will be announced once they become available. Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences online at www.schaudtfuneralservice. com.
