UnmistakableResemblance
“For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.” (1 Thessalonions 2:11-12) For those who have grown up with the Lord, it seems natural to pray, serve, sing songs of praise, and study God’s Word. Do we get so comfortable in that role that we might view ourselves as being a “better” Christian than someone else, especially one who is younger in the faith, with less experience? Or are we following Paul’s suggestion of using words of encouragement and comfort to urge the newbies on to bigger and better things?
