Countians facing drug trafficking charges

Two Okmulgee County residents are facing multiple drug and weapons charges following their arrest Saturday.

At 6:26 a.m. Nov. 18, an OHP trooper patrolling the area of Skelly Road and 224th Street West, in Muskogee County, observed a red truck traveling westbound on Skelly Road at a high rate of speed, according to court documents.

As the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver sped up and led the officer on a high-speed pursuit down a gravel country road and into Okmulgee County. The truck came to a stop near Garfield and 330 Road, where the driver then traveled into a wooded area, running over trees and brush. The trooper left his vehicle and began a foot pursuit.

The truck stopped and the driver exited the vehicle, surrendering to the trooper without incident. The subject was identified as Jason Dale Cole, 44, who was alone in the vehicle.

According to the court document, a search of the vehicle revealed two loaded guns, along with ammunition, extended round magazines for pistols and rifles that were loaded. Also discovered was approximately a half-pound of methamphetamine, packed for distribution.

A search warrant was executed at Cole’s residence on Gilmer Road around 11:30 a.m. With assistance from the Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office and ATF agents, a search of the property yielded $10,000 in cash, 6.5 kilos of meth, 2-3 ounces of suspected fentanyl, 25 pounds of marijuana, rifles, pistons, firearm suppressors, and other miscellaneous items, according to the court document.

A female, identified as Crystal Faye Chesser, 41, was in a bedroom at the home, where investigators also found a loaded rifle and loaded revolver, along with approximately 64 grams of meth in a nightstand.

Chesser was taken into custody, and both she and Cole were booked into the Okmulgee County Jail.

Chesser is being held on numerous complaints including Maintain Place for Keeping/ Selling CDS, Carry or Possess Firearm by Convicted Felon, Trafficking (Meth 20 grams or more), Trafficking Fentanyl (1 gram or more), and Use of Firearm While Committing a Felony, along with Child Endangerment. Her bond is set at $151,000.

Cole’s complaints listed on the jail’s website include Use of a Firearm While Committing a Felony, Eluding Police Officer, Trafficking (Meth 20 grams or more), Trafficking Fentanyl (1 gram or more), Maintain Place for Keeping/Selling CDS, Carry or Possess Firearm by Convicted Felon, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Child Endangerment.

A court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 30 at 1:15 p.m. in Okmulgee County district court.
