MN Lighthorse gives update on Morris stabbing suspect

Muscogee Nation Lighthorse announced the arrest of a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing that took place on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, they released a statement: “On November 6, 2023, at approximately 7 p.m. a ‘call for service’ was received at Lighthorse Dispatch regarding an incident that occurred near 2nd Street and Okmulgee in Morris. Morris Police officers were first to arrive on scene. Morris officers observed a male victim with a stab wound to the arm. Morris officers immediately rendered lifesaving aid to the victim and contacted EMS. During this time, Muscogee Nation officers were requested to assist in locating the suspect. The victim was transported to St John’s Hospital in Tulsa, where he was treated and is currently in stable condition. Once Morris officers identified the suspect as a Tribal citizen, Muscogee Nation Lighthorse Investigators were requested to the scene.

An extensive search for the suspect was conducted throughout the City of Morris that lasted into the next morning. On November 7, Morris Police Department contacted Muscogee Nation Lighthorse and advised the suspect was at their police station and had turned himself in. Once investigators arrived, the suspect was placed under arrest.”

Muscogee Nation Lighthorse thanked the Morris Police Department for their assistance ensuring the safety of Morris residents. No other information has yet been released.
