Brenda Lee Proctor

Brenda Proctor, a resident of Okmulgee, a member of the Muscogee Creek Nation, passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 59. Brenda was born on May 9, 1964, in Okmulgee, the cherished daughter of M.A. Proctor and Lula Mae Messer.

Brenda’s life was defined by her deep love for her family, and she found immense joy in the presence of her beloved granddaughter, Maylee. She was known for her warm and welcoming nature, her love for social gatherings, and her passion for cooking out and spending quality time with those closest to her. Her niece, Stephanie Deere, shared a special bond with Brenda, spending cherished moments together, particularly enjoying their time fishing.

Preceded in death by her parents, M.A. Proctor and Lula Mae Messer, Brenda leaves behind a legacy that will forever be treasured in the hearts of her five sons, May 9, 1964 – October 28, 2023

Joshua Pickett, M.A. Proctor, Ronnie Proctor, Cory Sanders, and Samuel Sanders. Her memory will also be cherished by her siblings, Ronald Proctor of Tulsa, Nancy Proctor of Tahlequah, Linda Waterdown of Tahlequah, Mary Hernandez of Tahlequah, Carla and Rachel Schexnider of Cushing, Roberta Pickett of Okmulgee, Dorothy Proctor of Lawton, and Elizabeth Deere of Okmulgee (sister- in-law). She is also mourned by her deceased siblings, Martin Proctor of Tahlequah, Robert Deere of Okmulgee, and Nancy Kay Proctor of Lawton. Brenda’s significant other, Frank Sanders, grieves her loss deeply alongside her circle of other friends and relatives.

A funeral service will be held at Belvin Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023, with a graveside service to follow at Nuyaka Mission Church Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service & Cremation Care, located at 220 S. Alabama Ave. in Okmulgee.
