Dustin Ray Hale

September 13, 1994 – October 23, 2023

Dustin Ray Hale, 29, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away on October 24, 2023. Known to most as “Dusty,” he was born on September 13, 1994, in Okmulgee. He was a fun-loving individual who always had a knack for making people feel good about themselves and loved to make people laugh. Dusty’s outgoing nature earned him the title of “Most Outgoing” in school. He was a competitive person who always strived to be the best in everything he did. Dusty had a deep passion for sports, especially baseball, and was a loyal Chargers fan. His infectious personality and wonderful smile touched the lives of many and loved by many who knew him. Dusty also had a special place in his heart for dogs, and always bragged that he was his mother’s favorite child. He was proud of his Irish and Muscogee Nation heritage.

Dusty attended Glenpool High School and later attended University of Central Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University before deciding to attend Wichita Technical Institute, where he became an HVAC Technician. He worked for a few HVAC companies that allowed him to move to several different states. He was currently working for Cool Systems and traveled extensively for work. This lifestyle fit him well as he had earned the nickname “RayVac” from his dad, because he was always on the go; but to his nieces and nephews, he was “Buck Red.”

In his free time, Dusty enjoyed hanging out with his nieces and nephews, going dancing with friends, and fishing. These activities brought him joy and allowed him to create lasting memories with his loved ones.

Dusty is survived by his mother, Heather Holleman; father, Tony Hale; sisters, Hayden Rolan and husband Caleb, Bailey Shadowens and husband Blake, Alicia O’Halloran and husband Charlie, and Amy Ford and husband Brandon; brother, Tyler Sutterfield and wife Lindsey; girlfriend, Katie Arnold; grandparents, Jill and Arthur Holleman, Jr, uncle, Arthur Holleman, III and wife Valerie; uncle, Don Hale and wife Debbie; aunt, Cassie Sharp and husband Ty; aunt, BriAnne and husband Jason Riffe; nephews Bryar, Boone and Bud Shadowens, Henry O’Halloran, Brandon Ford and Tamon Sutterfield, nieces Alicia, Carolina and Lorraine Ford, and Ellie Sutterfield, and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doris and Milton Hale; and uncle, Luke Holleman.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Faith Church in Glenpool, officiated by Rocky Ausbrooks. In honor of Dusty, friends are encouraged to wear green or Chargers gear. Honorary Casketbearers will be Tyler Sutterfield, Brian Mayfield, Kameron Mayfield, Caleb Rolan, Blake Shadowens, Jake Ramos, Brandon Ford, Charlie O’Halloran and Buddy Hacker. The funeral home is honored to assist Dusty’s family during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to https://www.mlb.com/ cardinals/community/ grants or they bring new or gently used youth sports equipment or monies that will be donated to Glenpool Schools.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on Dusty’s Tribute Page at www.mcclendon- winters.com.
