Mary Elizabeth Shafer

May 14, 1957 – October 8, 2023

Mary Elizabeth Shafer passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, in Henryetta. She was born Tuesday, May 14, 1957, in Willows, Calif. to the late Louie and Mary (Porter) Edwards. Mary grew up in Oklahoma and attended high school. She married Harold Shafer, Sr. in July of 1975. Mary worked at Tyson Chicken before she became a homemaker. She enjoyed camping, fishing and watching television with her late husband Harold.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters, Francis and Daphne; a grandson, Dillon Shafer; and granddaughter Mandy Shafer.

Survivors include three daughters, Tina and husband Nathan, April Loubat; two sons, Harold and David Shafer; two nephews, Keith and Jack Crouch; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, October 23, 2023, with a graveside service at Okmulgee Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McClendon Winters Funeral Home to help with funeral services.

Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on Ann’s Tribute Page at www.mcclendon-winters. com.
