Rabbitt was born February 17, 1937, in Okmulgee to Lillian Francis (Scott) and C. Bernard Rabbitt, Sr. He was reared in Okmulgee, attended Wilson Elementary School and Okmulgee High School, graduating with the Class of 1955. He played softball and was gifted musically, singing and playing the piano and organ. He served as the organist at the Okmulgee First United Methodist Church for several years.
Rabbitt enjoyed a life-long love of aviation, and following graduation from Okmulgee High School, joined the Air National Guard. He flew, maintained his pilot license, and owned his own plane until recent years when his eyesight grounded him. He shared his love of aviation and ownership of a plane with his close friend Ade Hale, and passed along that love to his grandson Alex Rabbitt.
Following some time working at Douglass, Rabbitt began a 30-year career with American Airlines. He worked as an electrical engineering draftsman until he retired in 1995. After some time, he went to work at Airworks, and worked there for approximately five years.
On June 30, 1961, he married Donna Henry in Henryetta. They had three children, Tonya, Lisa, and Scott. During their lives together, he and Donna enjoyed traveling around the world and spending time at their property on Grand Lake where friends and family were known to visit to ski, play in the water, and enjoy being together. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sharing amusing stories of his childhood. He had an outgoing personality and quick sense of humor, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family whenever he could.
Rabbitt was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Tonya and son-in-law Mark Skelton; and his brother C. Bernard Rabbitt, Jr.
He is survived by Donna of the home; his daughter Lisa Chissoe and her husband Brian; son Scott and his wife Anna; grandchildren Alex Rabbitt, Matt and Jon Skelton, and Chris Patty; all of Broken Arrow; multiple great-grandchildren, niece Kay Rabbitt-Brower of Okmulgee; and nephew E.
