Virginia Lee Carter

Virginia Lee Carter, 91-year-old Okmulgee resident, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, in Henryetta. She was born April 24, 1932, in Okmulgee to Noel Ray and Opal Ruth (Tucci) Evans. She graduated from Okmulgee High School and later married Johnny Carter. Virginia had a 30 career at OSUIT in the Automotive Department. She was a longtime member of Grand Avenue Church of Christ in Okmulgee.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Noel Evans and Opal Rodgers; husband, Johnny Carter; and her sons, Tommy Carter and Kenny Carter. Survivors include her son, Jay Carter and wife Tamara of Missouri; daughters-in-law, Toni Carter of California and Peggy Carter of Indiana; grandchildren, Jay Carter of New York City, Patrick Carter and wife Alayna of Oklahoma, Justin Carter and wife Alicia of California, Nate Carter and wife Katie of California, Kenneth Carter, Jr. of Indiana, and John Carter and wife Tatum of Indiana; great grandchildren, Amelie of Oklahoma, April 24, 1932 – September 9, 2023

Evelyn, Tobias, Aiden, Adyline, and Colton, all of California and Taylor and Riley of Indiana; and a cousin, Brian Ross of Oklahoma.

Friends may visit the funeral home on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 8:30-11 a.m. A funeral service to honor Virginia will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Grand Avenue Church of Christ, with Mr. Kevin Copeland officiating. Interment will follow at Okmulgee Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mc-Clendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on Virginia’s tribute page at www.mcclendon-winters. com.
