OJFA begins 2023 with road sweep
By LARRY OWEN SPORTS EDITOR

Junior Bulldogs to open home schedule Sept. 9

The Okmulgee Junior Football Association kicked off its 33rd season last Saturday with a road trip to Prague for a 4-game battle with the Prague Red Devils.

The Junior Bulldogs left the Prague football field with four victories to begin 2023 with their first sweep of the season.

The OJFA program will enjoy a Bye Week this weekend and will return to the field next Saturday (Sept. 9) in the 2023 home opener against the Bethel Wildcats.

In last Saturday’s season opener in Prague, the third-grade Junior Bulldogs began the road sweep with a hard-fought 14-6 decision over the host Red Devils.

The fourth-grade Okmulgee squad notched the first shutout win of the season by blanking Prague 24-0 for its first win of the campaign.

The fifth and sixthgrade Junior Bulldog teams completed the road sweep with identical 22-0 shutout wins over the host Red Devils.
