Henryetta Cross Country enjoys success

Kaler paces HHS runners with 7th place finish at Claremore Sequoyah meet

The Henryetta cross country program competed last Saturday at the Claremore Sequoyah Invitational.

The HPS runners came away with a few Top 20 finishes at the second meet of the 2023 campaign.

The top performer for Henryetta last Saturday was Kenleigh Kaler with a seventh-place finish. Kaler’s Top 10 finish came in the 11th-12th Grade division of the varsity girls 1-mile race.

The Henryetta runners to finish in the Top 20 at the Claremore Sequoyah meet were Cadyn Gillispie and Stormie Waquie.

Gillispie came away with a 12th-place finish in the middle school boys 1-mile race, while Waquie crossed the finish line in 19th place in the 9th-10th Grade divison of the varsity girls 1-mile race.

The top perfomer for Henryetta in the elementary division last Saturday was Greer Blake, who finished 22nd overall in the girls 1-mile race.

The Henryetta runners will return to action Saturday at Okemah and will also compete at their annual home meet the following Saturday (Sept. 9) at Nichols Park in Henryetta.
