The Okmulgee County Backto- School Prayer Walk will be held this Saturday, Aug. 5, beginning at 9 a.m. at Okmulgee High School’s Brock Gymnasium. Participants will gather before traveling to the various locations around the county.
Between 9 and 9:30 a.m., attendees will participate in a meet and greet before traveling to their designated locations throughout the county at 9:30 a.m.
The Prayer Walk gives individuals and groups the opportunity to travel to all county schools and colleges, and offer prayers on behalf of the students, teachers and staff – all for a successful and safe year.
Locations to be covered include Beggs, Wilson, Preston, Dewar, Okmulgee, Stonebridge Academy, Morris, Henryetta, Schulter, all Head Starts, OSUIT, Green Country Technology Center and the College of the Muscogee Nation.
According to the promoters of the event, prayer leaders and supporters are sought to participate. Meetings have been held with area pastors, and are inviting their youth groups to participate.
