After an illustrious career spanning 38 years in higher education, Dr. Bill R. Path, President of OSU Institute of Technology (OSUIT) in Okmulgee, has announced his retirement, effective Oct. 16. This decision comes as he and his wife, Deborah, embark on a new chapter in their lives, focusing on personal pursuits and family endeavors.

Reflecting on his time at OSUIT, Dr. Path expressed deep appreciation for the institutions resilience and adaptability, successfully navigating through challenging times, including a statewide revenue shortfall and a pandemic. He expressed confidence in the capable and devoted professionals at OSUIT, believing they will continue to uphold the institution’s mission and triumph over future obstacles.

“I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the exceptional team of administrators, faculty, and staff at OSUIT in Okmulgee during the last dozen years of my career,” said Dr. Path. “Your inspiration, camaraderie, and support have left an indelible mark on me, and I will deeply miss each one of you.”

Dr. Path also extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Okmulgee community, emphasizing their crucial role in making his tenure at OSUIT an enriching and rewarding experience. He plans to remain an active part of the community during retirement, cherishing the welcoming and vibrant environment it offers.

As he prepares to embrace the next phase of his life, Dr. Path is dedicated to ensuring a seamless leadership transition at OSUIT. He will work closely with the OSU System Office in the coming months to facilitate this process.

In conclusion, Dr. Path has expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the OSUIT community and the broader academic world. His contributions to the institution have been nothing short of extraordinary, leaving a lasting legacy that will be cherished for years to come.
