The Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority suffered a tragic loss last Thursday, July 20.
Sgt. Azlan, a three-year-old German Shepherd, Belgian Malinois mix, succumbed to an unknown medical condition, according to OCCJA Director of Law Enforcement Tim Lawson.
Sgt. Azlan’s partner is emotionally devastated at the loss of her canine friend and coworker, Executive Director Shannon Clark added, in speaking with the Times.
The two officers were responsible for numerous drug seizures, confiscations, and arrests during their tenure at OCCJA.
According to OCCJA administration, receipt of the pending necropsy report will significantly assist in determining the cause of death of the canine officer.
