Four county softball teams battle for state title

Four Okmulgee County Little League softball teams will battle other talented teams from across the state this weekend at three different OK Kids State Softball Tournaments.

Two of the county teams will compete at the 12U state tournament in Ada, while the other two teams will compete at the 8U and 10U state tournaments in Clinton and Weatherford, respectively.

The 8U and 10U state softball tournaments will feature two brackets – Blue and Red – with the winner and runner-up of each bracket advancing to Sunday’s Championship Series.

At the 8U state tournament, the lone county team – the Morris After Shock – will compete in the Blue Bracket and will begin tournament play Thursday at 6 p.m. against the Clinton Lady Reds.

At the 10U state tournament, the lone county team – the Moris Aces – will be part of the Blue Bracket and will open tournament play Thursday at 6 p.m. against the Thomas Terriers.

The two county teams that will compete at the 12U state tournament will be the Preston All Clans and the Morris Thunder. The Preston team will open tournament play Thursday at 6 p.m. against the Clinton Lady Reds, while the Morris squad will begin its tournament action Thursday at 12:45 against the Leedey Bison.
