Roger Thompson give a wrap-up of the legislative session as featured speakers of the Okmulgee County Republican Party at its monthly meeting June 13. The legislators each spoke on some of the session’s legislation and then answered questions from the public. Some question topics included education, legislation on illegal foreign property ownership, tribal compacts, Oklahoma National Guard being sent to the U.S.-Mexican border, tax credits for students attending private schools, and marijuana legislation. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month at the OkmulgeeAmerican Legion Post 10 at 730 W. 6th Street. Business meeting for registered Republicans is at 6 p.m., and the general meeting, which is open to the public, is at 6:30 p.m.
