The Okmulgee community is mourning the loss of an Okmulgee High School student who died suddenly last Friday afternoon. Steven McGlorie passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013. Classmates of the friendly OHS senior have been using social media sites to express their sadness over this tragic turn of events. Steven was a big, strong athlete. He was the best offensive player on the Bulldog football team this past season. He played fullback and tailback and provided some of the longest and most exciting runs of the season. As good as he was at football, McGlorie was just as good a wrestler. He was one of the best wrestlers on the recently-completed OHS mat season. Most of all, Steven was a fine young man and a solid student. His death will leave a void that classmates will carry for years to come. His absence will be felt at prom and all-sports banquet and graduation.
