American Legion Post 10 celebrated its 100th anniversary last Thursday during their regular monthly meeting. The Legion was chartered on March 23, 1923, in Okmulgee and currently has 75 members with 25 being active members. Commander Richard Raby was joined by local and state officers and members during the celebration. They enjoyed a meal and a birthday cake, along with special guest speakers and presentations. The Okmulgee post was the 10th one in the State of Oklahoma. Though there were members involved in the post as early as 1919, they did not become chartered until 1923 when they reached 100 members.
