Every time there is a City Council election, the Okmulgee Area Development Corp. invites the candidates into our conference room for a briefing on who we are, what our mission is and what the status is of our projects. Not being shy by nature, Deb and I do not hesitate to tell each candidate what we see on the horizon. We invite all candidates; not all show up. That’s fine, but we give them the opportunity to ask all the questions they want and we give them our gut level honest assessment of what we see. I have not kept track of what percentage of the candidates over the last few years show up, but a good number do stop by and talk.
